Refinishing is a big project, and you likely have questions. Here are the answers to the most common inquiries we get from customers in Summit and Portage counties.
How long does it take to refinish hardwood floors?
A typical refinishing project takes 3 to 5 days. This includes sanding, staining, and applying multiple coats of finish. You will need to wait an additional period (usually 24 hours) for the final coat to cure before walking on it.
Is the process very dusty?
While no sanding process is 100% dust-free, we use advanced dust containment systems to capture the vast majority of airborne particles. We also seal off the work area with plastic sheeting to protect the rest of your home.
Can you match the new stain to my existing woodwork?
Yes, we can create custom stain blends. during the estimate or at the start of the job, we can test a few stain options on a small patch of your floor so you can see exactly how it looks in your home's lighting.
Do I need to move my furniture?
Yes, the room must be completely empty. We recommend moving all furniture and clearing the floors before our team arrives. If you need assistance, please let us know during the estimate so we can discuss options.
How do I know if my floors can be refinished?
Most solid hardwood floors can be refinished several times. If you have engineered hardwood, it depends on the thickness of the top veneer. We will inspect your floor during the free estimate to ensure it is thick enough to sand safely.
What areas do you serve?
We provide floor refinishing services throughout Northeast Ohio, including Middlefield, Geauga County, Cuyahoga County, and surrounding areas.
